Fintech meets healthcare
Healthcare finance is one of the most complex and outdated systems, but it’s also one of the most impactful challenges to solve — for ourselves and for future generations. Rarely do you get the chance to work on a problem with such far-reaching potential to drive lasting change. That’s why we’re calling on the smartest, most ambitious people to join us on this journey.
It's hard to give your team great healthcare
Getting healthcare for your business is a pain. Talking to brokers, picking a plan and benefits, managing issues that arise, open enrollment — it's a lot of work. And as your team grows, it only gets harder and more time-consuming.
An easier, more personal way to do healthcare
Thatch simplifies personalized healthcare for you and your team: just set a budget, and we handle the rest. Your team uses the budget you set to personalize their healthcare experience — from choosing health insurance to picking from benefits like mental health, fertility, and more.
Core values
Our core values are the fundamental beliefs and tenets that underlie how we build Thatch. They guide our behavior and decision-making, and shape our identity. Consider these foundational, philosophical ideals that persist regardless of changing circumstances.
Obsess over users
Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Prioritizing their happiness is not just an objective; it’s our purpose. We each take ownership of customer success, doing whatever it takes to not only meet but exceed their expectations. To us, customer happiness is the true north in our compass, guiding each step on our journey at Thatch.
Act like an owner
We’re all owners, and we act accordingly by taking responsibility for our decisions, actions, and communication. We think long-term and bias for action to ensure we’re executing on our vision. We step up and do whatever it takes to achieve excellence.
Festina Lente
Translated from Latin, Festina Lente means “make haste, slowly.” It was the personal motto of Roman Emperor Augustus Caesar. This oxymoron captures the discipline required to balance urgency and diligence. If we move too quickly, we’ll sacrifice long-term success. If we move too slowly, we’ll never achieve sustainable results.
The French poet Nicolas Boileau sums up the model Thatcher’s work ethic in The Art of Poetry:
Slowly make haste, and without losing courage;
Twenty times redo your work;
Polish and re-polish endlessly,
And sometimes add, but often take away
Inspire optimism
Enthusiasm can be infectious, but so can negativity. In a world constantly bombarded with pessimism, we consciously cultivate a positive environment. While we never shy away from confronting hard truths, we focus our energy on opportunities, not problems. Staying positive, especially in challenging times, is our way of navigating forward.
“The most important decision you make is to be in a good mood.”
-Voltaire
Pursue lifelong growth
We all strive to be the best version of ourselves, seeking feedback, making change, and pursuing lifelong growth. We are naturally curious people who strive for excellence in everything we do. We believe that hiring the best people with a growth mindset is an investment that compounds over time. Because we hire people who can grow, we bias toward promoting from within. We encourage lateral movements and exploring new roles to broaden our perspectives.
A team purpose-built for this mission
Our team previously built some of the most impactful companies in both fintech and healthcare, and we're leveraging that experience to build a healthcare experience people love.
